Policies
A policy is a set of rules, written once in plain language and shared by as many agents as you like. Each agent follows one policy. Editing a policy updates every agent that uses it, without a redeploy.
What a policy can contain
Section titled “What a policy can contain”| Rule | What happens |
|---|---|
| Topics the agent won’t discuss | One per line, in English or Arabic, in your own words - e.g. Competitors’ prices. If someone asks, or the agent starts to answer, the message is blocked. |
| Things the agent must never do with its tools | One per line - e.g. Delete customer records. Checked on every tool call; the tool action is refused. Agents without tools aren’t affected. |
| Hide personal data in replies | Emails, phone numbers, card and bank numbers, passwords and Saudi national ID / Iqama numbers are masked in what the agent says. Users can still share their own details with it. |
| Block harmful content | Hate, insults, sexual content, violence, and attempts to talk the agent out of its instructions. |
Under More options, set what users see when a message is blocked (the default is bilingual) and notes for your team.
Create and attach
Section titled “Create and attach”- Open Policies → New policy and fill in the rules you need.
- In the Agent Builder, pick it under Policy, then save.
See what’s enforced
Section titled “See what’s enforced”The agent’s page shows its policy in one line - for example Won’t discuss 2 topics · Blocks 1 thing with its tools. Show details lists each tool rule exactly as it is enforced, and any line that couldn’t be turned into a rule (with a hint to reword it).
Each message a policy checks costs a little - see Credits. Creating and editing policies is free.
